Policy Dialogue on SUCCESS

The Planning and Development Board organized the first ever policy dialogue on SUCCESS (Scaling-Up Convergence & Coverage of Social Sectors) Initiative in Pakistan with a mutual collaboration of UNICEF in AKS Auditorium, P&D Board.

All stakeholders from provincial government, developments and academia related to social sector participated and expressed their valuable suggestions / recommendations on SUCCESS initiative.

Chief Nutrition UNICEF Pakistan Mr Anteneh Girma Minas recognizing this critical issue, a comprehensive strategy/initiative aimed at addressing these multifaceted challenges through an integrated approach. This Initiative, named "Scaling Up Convergence and Coverage of Essential Social Services (SUCCESS)," is designed to consolidate efforts across various domains including Health, Nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Education, Child Protection, and Social Protection.

Manager ECD, Pakistan Dr. Saba Shuja said that SUCCESS initiative represents a pivotal effort to harmonize and maximize the impact of existing programs and interventions.

Chief Economist P&D Board Dr Nasir Iqbal Malik said that pakistan faces one of the highest rates of child malnutrition compared to other developing nations with 54 percent of young children at the risk of poor development and not reaching their full developmental potential.He also said this approach aims to foster a conducive environment for child survival, growth, and holistic development in Pakistan.
