The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved four development schemes of Irrigation & Road Sectors with an estimated cost of PKR. 4357.397 Million.
These schemes were approved in the 38th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2016-17 presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan. Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included:
- Construction of Flood Bund along River Indus from Raikh Bagh Wala to Bait Wagwar Kot Mithan District Rajanpur at the cost of PKR. 1645.936 Million
- Construction of Nutkani Flood carrying channel from RD. 0+000-21+000, District D,G.Khan (Revised) at the cost of PKR. 654.832 Million
- Rehabilitation of eastern Sadiqia Canal for restoring its design capacity in reach RD. 0+000 to 195+000, Bahawalnagar at the cost of PKR. 940.429 Million
- Construction of flyover bridge at Abbasia Town, R.Y. Khan at the cost of PKR. 1116.200 Million
