Acting Chairman Planning and Development Board, Dr. Asif Tufail Chaired a meeting with the Asian Development Bank (ADB Pakistan) mission held at the P&D Board to review the progress of the Improving Workforce Readiness project.
This initiative aims to enhance the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in Punjab, ultimately producing skilled workers to support economic growth and job creation.
The ADB mission reported that the project is on track, highlighting successful tracer studies conducted in government technical colleges. The courses in biotechnology, machine repair, food processing, hospitality etc are equipping students with essential skills needed in the job market.
Acting Chairman P&D Board Dr. Asif Tufail praised the efforts of ADB and the Industries Department to support the government’s commitment to launch a comprehensive skill development program. He noted that this initiative can be further strengthened to add more relevant course which can meet the industry's demands to achieve desired outcomes. He said that successful implementation on the project will ultimately benefit the economy and the youth of Punjab.
