Chief Statistician of UNICEF Visits the P&D Board

 
Chief Economist Planning and Development Board Mr. Masood Anwar engaged in a productive meeting with Chief Statistician of UNICEF, USA Mr. João Pedro Azevedo.
The meeting was also attended by Social Policy PM&D Specialist UNICEF Pakistan , Mr. Nouman Ghani, along with representatives from the P&D Board and others concerned.
The discussions aimed on the Government of Punjab's priorities, particularly the special initiatives in the social sector that are receiving heightened focus.
Both sides emphasized the necessity of establishing a robust statistical data mechanism to inform policy decisions and enhance accountability.
Chief Economist Mr Masood Anwar highlighted the Punjab Growth Strategy, stressing its goals to align with the UN Sustainable Development Platform Goals and to drive economic growth while addressing social challenges.
The meeting also spotlighted the ongoing Data Fest Pakistan in Islamabad, which serves as a platform for fostering innovation in data utilization for development. The significance of data-driven decision-making was reiterated, with both sides expressing a commitment to enhance collaboration for improved outcomes in social policy and development initiatives.
