The Secretary Planning and Development Board, Dr. Asif Tufail participated in a virtual meeting with World Bank’s Global Director of Health, Nutrition & Population (HNP) and Director of the Global Financing Facility (GFF) for Women, Children, and Adolescents Dr. Juan Pablo Uribe alongside WB Country Director Mr Najy Benhassine.
The primary objective of this meeting was to explore the challenges and opportunities in the World Bank/GFF engagement within Punjab. The discussions aimed to strengthen partnerships and expand more investment in the health, nutrition, and population sectors.
Dr. Asif Tufail highlighted the government's commitment to improve health services and discussed strategies to overcome existing barriers.He also briefed about Government priorities in enhancing health and nutrition services across Punjab through different ongoing initiatives such as the Punjab Health Support Program, the Punjab Family Planning Program, and the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project
Dr. Juan Pablo Uribe provided insights into global best practices and the potential for increased collaboration to achieve shared objectives.
