A meeting with the World Bank Pakistan scoping mission on statistical modernization held under the chairmanship of Chief Economist P&D Board Mr. Masood Anwar at P&D Board Lahore
The mission was led by Senior Economist World Bank Group’s Poverty & Equity Global Practice Mr. Bilal Malaeb.
The primary objective of the mission was to explore the potential support that the World Bank can provide to modernize statistical systems in Punjab. The focus was on enhancing decision-making and improving service delivery through better data collection and analysis.
Additionally, the mission aimed to map the current usage and demand for more frequent, accurate data. It also sought to identify the various data generation activities, not only within the Bureau of Statistics but also across other line departments in the region.
