The 5th meeting Program Steering Committee (PSC) for climate-resilient solutions aimed at improving water governance (CRS-IWAG) was chaired by Chairman P&D Board Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan. The Group Head of Climate & Resilience at the British High Commission Dr Simone Field gave an overview of the WRAP program, which aims to strengthen water governance at national and provincial levels, support adaptation to climate change, and improve environmental sustainability. The program has three main components: water governance, nature-based solutions, and catalytic actions. Following this,Team Leader of WRAP Dr. Mohsin Hafeez presented the progress of technical interventions being implemented in Punjab. These interventions aim to improve water governance in the Indus basin to support the implementation of national policies, promote better use of water within Punjab, and manage how water is shared across different areas to support the implementation of the Punjab Water Act. Member ID Dr. Abid Bodla emphasized that research-based methodology would guide the relevant departments on the current situation of groundwater governance and highlight the gaps that need to be addressed. In his closing remarks, Chairman P&D Board Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan stated that such authentic interventions open new avenues for departments to manage water more effectively. He added that the Government of Punjab is prioritizing water management and focusing on this critical issue.
