The PDWP Approves 13 Development Schemes and 2 Position Papers Worth Over Rs. 17.26 Billion to Boost Infrastructure and Public Services Across Punjab The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), in its 87th meeting of the fiscal year 2024–25, granted approval to 15 major development initiatives across various sectors, including Local Government, Higher Education, Urban Development, and Roads & Bridges. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman P&D Board, Dr. Naeem Rauf. The collective estimated cost of these initiatives is Rs. 17,261.329 million, reflecting the Government of Punjab’s strong commitment to sustainable development, infrastructure enhancement, and socio-economic uplift across the province. The approved schemes are as follows:  

  1. Construction and laying of RCC sewerage and drainage system in Mohallah Islamabad, Jinnah Colony, Niaz Mira, Haveli Mir Din, Sabir Town, and allied abadies (Phase-II), District Lahore – Rs. 1,696.333 million

  2. Position paper for vehicles regarding the establishment of Government Associate College for Boys, DG Khan

  3. Replacement of outlived water supply lines and tubewells in Multan (extension in gestation period)

  4. Providing and laying of forcemain and development of sewerage system in adjacent areas of Gatti, Aslam Park, Farooq Town, Adnan Town, Bagewala Road, Azhar Town, Sufyan Town, and adjoining areas – Rs. 1,240 million

  5. Rehabilitation of Layyah to Karor Road (30 km), District Layyah – Rs. 939.773 million

  6. Construction of metalled road from Sheikhupura Interchange (M-2) to QAAP, Length 3.90 km – Rs. 1,864.153 million

  7. Rehabilitation of Wazirabad to Daska Road, Section Km 0/00 to 10/00 (2.22 km) – Rs. 903.846 million

  8. Rehabilitation/Reconstruction of Lilla–Kandwal Road, 15.50 km (1.62 km section), District Jhelum – Rs. 1,106.803 million

  9. Dualization of road from Shadiwal to Chak Gillan, District Gujrat – Rs. 2,000.367 million

  10. Rehabilitation of road from Chishtian to Haroonabad via Murad (26.40 km), District Bahawalnagar – Rs. 1,494.621 million

  11. Rehabilitation/Improvement of Muzaffargarh–Sinawan Road, District Muzaffargarh – Rs. 834.223 million

  12. Rehabilitation of metalled road from Karor to BehalRs. 1,002.058 million

  13. Construction/Rehabilitation of metalled road from Alipur to Seetpur, Length 21 km – Rs. 1,110.042 million

  14. Construction of metalled roads and pile foundation bridge on Sangher Nullah for Tehsil Complex, Stadium, Zoo, TEVTA, Taunsa Sharif – Rs. 1,458.318 million

  15. Widening/Rehabilitation/Improvement of road from Sargodha–Faisalabad Bypass to Jhal Chakian, 22 km – Rs. 1,610.792 million
