An introductory meeting of the Punjab Economic Research Institute (PERI) and the Punjab Resource Management & Policy Unit (PRMPU) was held under the chairmanship of Chairman P&D Board Dr. Naeem Rauf. The meeting aimed to review the history, core objectives, and current challenges faced by both institutions supporting policy and reform in Punjab.

๐Ÿ”น Director PERI, Mr. Saleem, briefed the Chair on the instituteโ€™s primary functions. These include conducting research on important socioeconomic issues, publishing findings, advising the government on economic policies, offering training in research methodologies, and collaborating with national and international organizations.

๐Ÿ”น Managing Director PRMPU, Mr. Ahmad Rajwana, highlighted PRMPUโ€™s role in supporting the P&D Boardโ€™s reform agenda through multi-sectoral interventions, coordinating with development partners, and enhancing the capacity of provincial officers through targeted training programs.

Chairman P&D Board Dr. Naeem Rauf stressed that PERI and PRMPU are the backbone of the Boardโ€™s research and training functions. He emphasized the need to strengthen these institutions to improve evidence-based policymaking and governance capacity across Punjab.

The Secretary P&D Mr. Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Mr. Masood Anwar, and other senior representatives from PERI, PRMPU, and the P&D Board also joined the meeting.
