The 20th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for the fiscal year 2025–26 was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Naeem Rauf, Chairman, Planning & Development Board, Punjab. The forum approved development schemes in the Wildlife , Roads and tourism sectors with a cumulative estimated cost of Rs. 15,765.207 million. The approved schemes include: 1. Strengthening and Capacity Building of the Wildlife Department for Conservation of Wildlife in Punjab (Revised) – Rs. 3,631.564 million. 2. Revamping and Experience Development of Bahawalpur Zoo – Rs. 3,479.820 million. 3. Construction of Additional Ring Road from Bahawalpur Railway Station to Bino Hospital via Bindra Pully, Dewan Pully, Sadar Pully, and Kali Pully, District Bahawalpur – Rs. 1,628.492 million. 4. Rehabilitation of Metalled Road from Sahiwal to Pakpattan (Length = 40 km) – Rs. 4,518.906 million. 5. Rehabilitation of Sammundri–Sahiwal Road (Length = 50.90 km, Revised) – Rs. 2,456.425 million. 6. Feasibility Study for Installation of Chairlift & Cable Car from Lakot to Pindi Point, Murree – Rs. 50 million. Addressing the meeting, Chairman P&D Board Dr. Naeem Rauf emphasized that the approved schemes will significantly improve road connectivity and infrastructure in Punjab, while also strengthening wildlife conservation and promoting eco-tourism. He added that these initiatives reflect the Government of Punjab’s commitment to sustainable development, improved mobility, and the preservation of natural heritage. The meeting was attended by Secretary P&D Board Mr. Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Mr. Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and senior officers from other relevant departments. πŸ‘₯
