A high-level delegation of GIZ Pakistan, led by Dr. Nicolai Dellmann, Head of Projects, called on Secretary P&D Board, Mr. Rafaqat Ali, at the P&D Board. The meeting focused on two upcoming climate initiatives: 1๏ธโฃ Strengthening Climate Adaptation and Resilience in Pakistan (SAR II) 2๏ธโฃ Strengthening Climate Resilience through Promotion & Financing of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) ๐ฑ These initiatives aim to implement local, resilience-building adaptation measures aligned with Pakistanโs climate policy placing special emphasis on nature-based solutions in the agriculture sector. The Secretary of the P&D Board highlighted that the Government of Punjab is actively promoting climate financing and noted that a dedicated Climate Finance Unit (CFU) has already been established within the P&D Board to assist government departments in accessing and managing climate finance. โ Enhancing climate resilience โ Promoting nature-based, locally grounded solutions โ Aligning with national climate policy priorities ๐ค Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration for a greener, climate-resilient Pakistan.
