βœ… Smog Monitoring Dashboard πŸ“ŠπŸŒ: A dedicated monitoring system to track AQI levels in real time and provide early warnings to the public.

Senior Chief Environment, Ms. Nadia Shafiq, briefed that the newly established Smog Monitoring Dashboard will integrate inputs from 20 departments, which will upload their daily activities regarding smog awareness and action plans.

This dashboard will also integrate satellite data, ground sensors, and AI-based forecasting tools to ensure timely interventions. She emphasized that the system will strengthen Punjab’s ability to predict, monitor, and control smog episodes effectively.

Additionally, representatives of various sectors shared their proposed plans, including:

πŸ₯ Healthcare: Establishment of anti-smog counters, strengthening HDUs, maintaining medicine stockpiles, and launching awareness programs through medical universities.

🏭 Industries & Commerce: Green financing for SMEs, a pilot Emission Trading System (ETS), and mapping of industrial emissions in Lahore.

πŸŽ’ School Education: Plantation of 1.78 million saplings, establishment of small nurseries, development of Miyawaki forests, formation of eco-clubs, climate awareness sessions, installation of waste segregation bins, and a strict ban on litter burning.

🌿 Green Initiatives: Tree plantation along hospitals and public institutions in collaboration with Forest & Horticulture Departments.
