The Punjab Government approved ten development schemes of different development Sectors with an estimated cost of PKR. 7349.135 Million.
These schemes were approved in the 13th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2014-15 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman, Muhammad Irfan Elahi, says P&D spokesman. Chief Economist Dr. Khalid Mushtaq, members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting.
According to spokesman for P&D, the approved development schemes included:
- Improvement/rehabilitation/dualization of Sheikhupura Muridke Road length 24 km in District Sheikhupura at the cost of PKR. 2659.851 Million
- Dualization of road from National Model School to Faisalabad Road/Sharqpur Chowk Via Sarwar Shaheed Road, Stadium and Qila City Sheikhupura length 3.54 km, Distt Sheikhupura at the cost of PKR. 1257.820 Million
- Widening/improvement of road from Kot Nainan to Sukho Chak (length: 26.50 km) in District Narowal at the cost of PKR. 465.466 Million
- Widening/improvement of road from Kot Sujjan Singh to Jandiali Banglow length: 19.00 km in District Khanewal at the cost of PKR. 226.276 Million
- Construction of overhead bridge on the Railway Lines Between Jahanian Road to Police Station Sadder and Abdul Ghafoor Road, Khanewal at the cost of PKR. 661.057 Million
- Widening of road from Tranda Muhammad Panah to Allah Abad (length:16.00 km) Rahimyar Khan at the cost of PKR 235.103 Million
- Conctruction of dual carriage way from Burewala to Chichawatni Road, Vehari (Remaining Portion) from km 3.00 to 23.14 length: 20.14 km in District Vehari at the cost of PKR. 980.233 Million
- Widening and extension (10-20 Feet) of Mattle Road Pull Qadira Kot Mithan to Head Hamid length: 14.60 km at the cost of PKR. 271.945 Million
- Widening/improvement of road from Fazilpur to Hajipur (Phase-I) from 12 Feet to 20 Feet length 15 km, District D.G. Khan at the cost of PKR. 259.468 Million
- Widening and extension (10-20 Feet) of metalled road Bait Sountra to Sahanwala length: 23.88 km, D.G. Khan at the cost of PKR. 331.916 Million
