Consultative Meeting with Stakeholders on NDCs Projects Proposals

The session was made up of the 9 NDCs working groups, which were established to create and choose bankable projects that would help the NDCs to meet their goals.
Member (Environment & CC) P&D Board Mr. Ahmad Aziz Tarar stated in his introductory remarks, climate change is a global issue, and directly related to every area of our lives. He emphasized that, along with focusing on green financing, we also need to strengthen the governance of climate change.He further discussed the policy concerns covered by the IMF's analytical review, which included strengthening climate information architecture, establishing an international carbon price floor, moving toward a green economy, border carbon adjustments, and increasing private climate finance in emerging markets and developing economies.
Afterthat, UNDP Consultant Mr. Khurram Lalani gave a detailed presentation on making climate-ready projects, He discussed the concept of the theory of change, project management, highlighting investment potential, selecting potential funding sources, etc.
In concluding remarks, Chief Environment/DS P&D Board Ms. Saba Asghar presented the GOP road map on climate change and clarified the major goal of the event.She stated that project proposals should be submitted based on the NDCs criteria by all key stakeholders, including the departments of energy, transport, ICI&SD, irrigation, excise and taxation, and forests.The session was moderated by AC (Environment &CC) Mr Rizwan Ali.
