Chairman P&D Board, Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, led a meeting on the master plan for Eco-tourism in Punjab and the steps to enhance the capacity and working of Forest and Wildlife Department.
DG Wildlife, Mr. Muddassir Riaz Malik, outlined future interventions at Changa manga for the promotion of tourism and the protection of wildlife. He further shared plans to establish a wildlife protection force in critical areas, including Bahawalpur, Salt Range, Rawalpindi, and Attock. He also discussed the development of check posts, barracks, and wildlife lines, as well as the creation of directorates in Bahawalpur and the Salt Range.
The strategy includes bolstering infrastructure, human resources, and logistics, along with setting up a Project Management Unit (PMU) in Lahore to oversee and supervise development initiatives also discussed in the meeting.
Chairman P&D Board, Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan said that GOP has decided to improve the working of Wild life department by providing financial support and improving the capacity of HR by providing them modern tools and gadgets. He said , GOP is also determined to enhance tourism and provide top-notch facilities for the people of Punjab.
The chair stressed the need to design the master plan carefully to achieve these objectives effectively.
