Secretary P&D Board, Dr. Asif Tufail chaired a meeting regarding the revamping of the Bansra Gali Zoological Garden in Murree.
DG Wildlife, Mr. Muddassir Riaz Malik briefed the chair about the current situation and proposed plans for Bansra Gali Murree.He said , Bansra Gali has significant potential for tourism and the proposed project would attract a large number of tourists across the world to visit and see the enchanting beauty of this place. He said the project would be self sustainable and once completed, would greatly enhance its impact and revenue. He briefed that new animal species would be introduced there, furthermore,the establishment of cutting-edge research facilities, and the implementation of digital eco-tourism initiatives would be the part of this project.
Secretary P&DB Dr. Asif Tufail appreciated the efforts of wildlife to preserve precious species of animals, birds insects etc.and said that new interventions of the department and execution of this project would surely enhance the tourism in Pakistan especially in Punjab. But there should be transparency and merit in the entire implementation process.
Sr Chief Consultancy Ms. Shafaq Saleem , Chief Environment Ms. Saba Asghar, Chief Technical Mr. Abid Inayat Sheikh, reps of Wildlife, P&D Board and others participated.
