Secretary P&D Board, Dr. Asif Tufail, chaired the 18th meeting of the Provincial External Financing Assessment Committee (PEFAC), held to discuss the proposed Low Carbon and Adaptive Agriculture Project, which is set to be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The core objectives of the project include enhancing access to advanced agricultural machinery, setting up an agricultural machinery testing center, establishing a speed breeding facility, demonstrating advanced machinery to farmers, and launching a comprehensive training program.
Secretary P&DB Dr. Asif Tufail emphasized the project's potential to revolutionize agricultural practices and improve efficiency. He said that this initiative aims not only to modernize our agricultural sector but also to ensure the sustainability of our farming practices and adaptability to climate challenges.
The meeting was attended by Member Agriculture Mr. Aslam Javaid, Joint Chief Economist Mr. Ahmad Kamal Mann, Sr. Chief ECA Mr. Ahmad Rajwana, and representatives from the Agricultural Department Finance Department and others.
