The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its first meeting of the fiscal year 2025β26 under the chairmanship of Chairman, Planning & Development Board, Punjab Dr. Naeem Rauf. The meeting resulted in the approval of six development schemes of different sectors including Transport, Irrigation, Skill Development, and Energy, with a cumulative estimated cost exceeding Rs. 19.56 billion. Approved Development Schemes: 1. Development of Urban Bus Depot and Allied Infrastructure at Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore at an estimated cost of Rs. 8,091.756 million. 2. Development of Urban Bus Depot and Allied Infrastructure at Railway Station, Lahore at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,625.229 million. 3. Feasibility Study for Conversion of Existing TEVTA Institutes β Government Technical Training Institute (GTTI), Gulberg, Lahore, and Government Swedish-Pakistan College of Technology (GSPCT), Gujrat β into an International Training Institute for German/EU-Specific Training Programs at an estimated cost of Rs. 15.930 million. 4. Rehabilitation of MontgomeryβPakpattan (M-P) Link Canal at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,264.960 million. 5. Feasibility Study for Comprehensive Integrated Flood Management of Nullahs in Districts Sialkot, Narowal, and Gujranwala at an estimated cost of Rs. 64.855 million. 6. Energy Efficiency & Conservation Programme (PGDP, DLI-5) β Revised at an estimated cost of Rs. 8,500 million. Additionally, funds were approved for the updation of transport modelling and feasibility studies for mass transit systems in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Lahore. The meeting was attended by Secretary P&D Board Mr. Rafaqat Ali, Secretary Transport Mr. Imran Sikandar Baloch, Secretary Irrigation Mr. Wasif Khurshid, Chief Economist Mr. Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and other senior officers.
