Punjab Planning & Development, DG M&E Organizes a Mehfil-e-Milad at M&E Head Office Lahore

Planning & Development, Directorate General Monitoring & Evaluation, Punjab organized a Mehfil-e-Milad of Rabi-ul-Awwal at DG M&E office, Lahore. Guest speaker Dr. Abdul Sameeh a renowned religious scholar attended the event and shed light on the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life (Seerat-un-Nabi), sayings, teaching and philosophies. Dr. Abdul Sameeh highlighted that in his early teens, Muhammad (PBUH) worked in a camel caravan, following in the footsteps of many people his age, born of meagre wealth. Working for his uncle, he gained experience in commercial trade traveling to Syria and eventually from the Mediterranean Sea to the Indian Ocean. In time, Muhammad (PBUH) earned a reputation as honest and sincere, acquiring the title Al-Sadiq and Al-Amin” meaning truthful and trustworthy respectively.

To sum up, he said that the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is full of countless examples that show his status as a role model for Muslim societies and individuals. His life is one that was dominated by a superior morality, good habits; noble and gentle feelings and superior skills, all of which are characteristics that help prevent people from getting entangled in a web of sin. The rich and the prosperous, the poor and the needy, the ruler and the ruled, the weak and the lonely, the conqueror and the victorious commander, the teacher and the student, the preacher and the mentor, the merchant and the craftsman, the employer and the employee in other words, every sort of person can find truths in Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) life that constitute an example for them to follow.

Furthermore, Sajid Rasool, Director General, Bureau of Statistics was chief guest of the event, while Muhammad Asad Khan, Director Coordination, DG M&E along with all staff members of the M&E Directorate also participated in the Mehfil-e-Milad. On the occasion, Booklets on Seerat-un-Nabi were distributed amongst all the participants of the event by Dr. Abdul Sameeh at the end of the ceremony. The chairman thanked all the valuable guests for making this event successful.
