Punjab Government Secures PKR. 1353.171 Million from NDRMF

Punjab Government has secured development funding worth of PKR. 1353.171 Million from the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) through efforts of the Planning and Development Board. The funding by NDRMF is aimed at projects that improve the resilience to climate change and natural disasters which in turn result in sustainable socio-economic benefits. Punjab Chairman Planning & Development Board Habib ur Rehman Gillani told that due to limited fiscal space in the province, this development is a welcoming news. This grant will support the people around these areas and result in prosperity and sustainable development.

The projects from Punjab that got funded are Rehabilitation of Hajipur Gujran Flood Protection Bund, rehabilitation/restoration of Jalala Flood Protection Bund, Protection of village abadis Shahpur, Chanjura, Fatehpur Gujran and Sukho Chak against erosive action of Bein Nulla and protection of infrastructure, abadis and agricultural land of villages Jagojil and Baryar from erosion of River Ravi downstream.
