The Punjab PDWP Approved Two Development Schemes of Irrigation Sector

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved two development schemes of Irrigation Sector with an estimated cost of PKR. 777.043 Million.

These schemes were approved in the 36th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2019-20 presided by the Chairman P&D Board Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh. Provincial Secretary P&D Imran Sikandar Baloch, all members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries of concerned departments, Senior Chief (Coord) Javed Latif, Assistant Chief Coordination Syed Naveed Iqbal, Planning Officer Coordination Muhammad Rashid and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.

The approved development schemes included:

  • Feasibility study and proposing solutions of problematic small dams in development zone (PC-II) at the cost of PKR. 247.648
  • Million and Disaster & Climate Resilience Improvement Project (DCRIP), enhancing resilience of right embankment of Shujabad Branch from RD 260+000 to 279+000 against seepage during high floods in River Chenab at the cost of PKR. 529.395 Million
  • Scheme of water and sanitation sector included “Program to Uplift Water Supply & Sanitation Infrastructure in Under Developed Areas of Punjab” at the cost of PKR. 3,285.505 Million is cleared and sent to CDWP for its final approval
